This is hilarious… I know all too well about this phenomenon. One time I met up with this girl that looked like the offspring of sloth from the Goonies. I didn’t even know aliens existed but after seeing her I knew there was life (not intellegent) out in the universe.

I came across this site called badonlinedates.com. This site has a bunch of these “Myspace Angles” stories. They are running a contest for the best bad date story (Winner gets to kick it at the four seasons for a night). Check it out! It’ll at least make you laugh!

Interesting the writer is talking about Photoshopping images. Several of those images of the “fat” versions were Photoshopped. But the truth is, what the article is saying is true. To those who question the shallowness of looking for someone we find attractive, think again. There are many windows into the soul; the body is one of them. A person with a lot of excess weight, statistically has emotional problems (more specifically, has “deep and pervasive depression”). A person with a lot of excess weight tends to not be very active. A person who deceives someone from the beginning probably is not someone who is very trustworthy.

Wendy, I have to point out that these women are being just as shallow as the guys who see them at the restaurant on their “first date” and sneak out the back door. Because, what was root of the attraction they had to that guy? I would say that if it was reversed, and the guy showed up at the first date weighing twice what he was portrayed to weigh, that “angel” wouldn’t stick around. More than that, she would more than likely call him a liar. Why is it not socially appropriate for the reverse to be the case as well? But seriously, guys, if you get suckered into something like this. Play the same card women play “once a liar, always a liar! How you ever expect me to trust you?” See if that sinks in better than “Well… I’m surprised. You don’t look the same as I expected you to look.” Or the more common “Holy fatness!” (don’t laugh… that actually came out of one of my friend’s mouths).

It’s just a little more cushin for the pushin . Some of em have decent faces so no bag required.

Interestingly, most of these girls are deemed unattractive because they are fat. In fact, being overweight appears to be a factor for 8 out of the 10. I wonder how many of these are American? Likely a crushing majority, if not all — pun intended.

Shallowness aside, obesity is unattractive for the same reason most unfavorable traits are unattractive: because it is often an indicator of poor genes. Being overweight increases the risk of heart disease, osteoarthritis, diabetes, etc., or more generally, increases the risk of death. A tendency to be obese, therefore, is correlated with a tendency to die early, which is something that is highly undesirable from a biological perspective. On another level, obesity is often caused by laziness, which is sociologically undesirable. We want people who will help hunt and gather food, not just sit around and eat it.

Humans, like all creatures, plants, fungi with an instinctive will to propagate, look to mate with the most genetically superior. In modern society, advances in medicine have rendered the traditional notion of Darwinism irrelevant. Thus, I don’t see the social ostracism of fat people as something that should be considered some gross moral wrong. It’s just a different sort of evolution. Predators ate the weak and slow Neanderthal, and society abhors the obese — in the end, neither gets to spread its seed.
